2023: A Year of Growth and Innovation at FSC

2023 was a year of significant growth and progress for Fluid System Components (FSC). Our team worked tirelessly to implement innovative safety measures, embrace sustainability through focused Kaizen events, mentor future engineers, grow our team, and deliver high-quality components while adding a little bit of fun. Let's take a quick peek at some of our accomplishments:

A year of Growth and Powerful Partnerships

It was a landmark year for FSC, marked by significant growth and exciting partnerships. We were thrilled to join forces with Norcan Fluid Power and Isaacs Fluid Power Equipment Company, expanding our reach and expertise across Canada and the Midwest. This union brought together multiple professionals with unparalleled knowledge and experience, creating a powerhouse of fluid power capabilities to benefit all our customers.

Kaizen in Action and Practice

Our Lean Manufacturing journey continued in 2023 with two impactful 3-day Kaizen events focused on implementing the Sort, Straighten, and Shine principles of the 6S methodology. This approach enabled us to rapidly identify and implement improvements, propelling us forward. In 2024, we will capitalize on this momentum by further optimizing our processes by Standardizing procedures and implementing monthly audits to continuously improve and Sustain the improvements already achieved. Throughout this evolution, Safety remains our top priority, reflecting FSC's unwavering commitment to creating safe and efficient manufacturing processes.

Storage Solutions That Rock

To accommodate our growing inventory and enhance operational efficiency, we added a third Hanel Vertical Rack system. This high-tech storage solution provides organized and streamlined access to all our components, freeing up valuable floor space for other purposes.

Mentoring Future Engineers

We partnered with UWGB for the spring and fall semesters, providing two senior design teams with invaluable real-world experience. Collaborating closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams, the students contributed to the design, wiring, and programming of the FSC mini feller buncher project, gaining practical knowledge and valuable industry insights from engineering professionals. We also continued with the FSC internship program, offering students the opportunity for summer internships where they are able to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications.
